When you are trying to leave an abusive relationship, cutting off communication can be tough. Even if you know that you are ready to move on, those text messages from your ex might keep pulling you back in. After a bad fight or a break up, abusive partners often go into a phase of manipulation to try to get you back. The texts could be full of promises that he or she will change and reminders of the good times. However, there could also be threats and insults. Either way, it might be best for you to just cut off this line of communication altogether to save your sanity and keep you on the path towards moving on.
